This project is my final project. this documentary project was based on the last few weeks of my senior year. I struggled to choose the topic that my project was going to be on and the settings of my camera but after finding out that my shutter speed was to high and fixing it I took pictures the same day, which consisted of gender bender day (dressing up as the opposite gender). then taking pictures the day of prom. This project is actually really emotional for me. This is full of memories for me and it has a significant meaning. Although these are not all of the pictures there's a lot behind them. A picture of my sister doing her make up the night of prom. My friends making the best of our senior week. I did my documentary on something that's a big deal for more than one person.

The candid project was based on taking pictures that aren't exactly planned. The people who I took pictures of were never ready to be captured. I took pictures of anything that involved my softball team. Sometimes I used the stalker lens in order for me to properly take pictures from a distance. when I was outside, I would change the ISO and the setting was changed so that I was able to take two pictures at a time. When I was finished the picture taking part, I wanted the pictures to look like I was putting pictures in a 1989 yearbook, so I changed the color to black and white. I used the quick selection to pin point certain areas of my teammates that were too bright but I made sure that it did not look like I painted on a new complexion which was definitely a challenge.
My Flash Fill project consisted of 4 different locations. I did use the flash in this project as well. The method was to fill in what the sun couldn't. I did have to darken up the glare on her face for some of the pictures. although it may not look like much, I did not want to darken it up too much. During the photo-shoot, we did have to move the flash around a little so it could fill up the correct places.
In the "Multiple Exposure" project we all chose photos that gave us an idea of how we wanted our models to look and we started taking pictures. For my project, i wanted to put a tree on my model. I took up to 10 pictures of the trees first then chose which picture I felt like suited the project best. Although I had to change my shutter speed setting to 1/200 due to the fact that it was too bright and then too dark. I did not take pictures of my model outside. I did it in the studio with the flash and she was turned to the side looking ahead of her. Doing it outside would have caused me to have to edit the picture a lot. We also moved and redirected the flash device so that she wouldn't have a big shadow behind her. In a recent project of mine i made a contact sheet. Everyone had to choose something to do a photo shoot. I chose people. There is something about everybody and i wanted to catch the uniqueness of people. I had to change the setting to cloudy in particular because of the weather outside. I think that catching pictures of them smiling is when they are the most authentic. This project is about who i am outside of my appearance. i chose a notebook because i always have a lot on my mind so its important for me to open up about my feelings. i also chose a reading book because i love to read and because i love history. This particular book happens to be about the Russian Revolution. i chose a setting outside near the soccer goal mainly because i liked soccer when i was little and i wanted to play in high school but never did. That's also where the soccer ball comes in at. Although it was hard for me to explain who i am through pictures, this collage is pretty head on. There is a lot more to me then just what's in the pictures nevertheless. In this project, we were on a whole new setting. We used lights, 3 different colored backgrounds, and props. Me and my team mostly goofed off and we were ourselves the whole time which made the project highly successful. The task was to take hundreds of pictures in different poses. standing up and sitting down but we had to adjust the light every now and again so that there weren't so many shadows to work around when we put the final touches on the photos. we then chose amazing backgrounds that fit and edited the background color off of the skin of "the star". these are the final touches. In this assignment we were instructed to take portraits of people around us. but not just any old pictures. The light has to reflect a certain way off their faces. We used a particular method of the ISO. It had to at least be at an ISO of 400. If we want the picture to look different we can change it to an ISO of 1600. My ISO alternated between 400 and 1600. The projects that we do genuinely revolve around an ISO of 400 or 1600. it depends on the kind of affect you'd be looking for in a photography project. My first assignment was to demonstrate depth of field manually on my camera. I took two pictures of flowers at two totally different sets. One was super bright and at 4.5 while the other was at 9.0 and more clear. learning how aperture works was based around knowing how to navigate setting and the difference between the two. for instance with the aperture being closed the depth of field is deep. I also had to make sure that the ISO was centered.
